Anambra State inaugurated the joint task force enforcement 6

 

The Deputy Governor of Anambra State Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim has inaugurated the joint task force enforcement team of Dobe Awka Ocha.

Inaugurating the enforcement team, Dr. Ibezm said that environmental cleanliness and sustainability is Paramount to the administration of the Governor. Chukwuma Soludo.

 

Dr. Ibezim who noted that the enforcement team has the support of the Anambra State government maintained that the Soludo administration kicked off with emergency evacuation of wastes across Anambra, adding that the team is critical to the campaign of clean and green initiative of the state government.

The Deputy governor made it clear that the government is looking forward to other towns and cities in the State to form their own clean and environmentally sustainable enforcement teams for a healthy Anambra.

The Anambra State Executive Council Committee Chairman on Clean and Green Awka which is made up of Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra, Anambra State Waste Management Authority among others, Mr Ossy Onuko urged the task force team to be diligent in their assignment and made it clear that there is no room for misconduct.

 

Mr. Onuko who is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority pointed out that part of the mandate of task force team is to ensure that nobody litters the environment anymore under any guise and that any violator will be prosecuted.

In a vote of thanks, the Transition Committee Chairman of Awka South Local Government Area, Mr. ThankGod Anagor thanked the Deputy governor for the inauguration and said that the task force team has the capacity to deliver on their mandate.

 

Mr. Henry Ndigwe is the Commander of the Dobe Awka Ocha Enforcement team.

 

The Deputy Governor later handed over a Toyota Hilux meant for the smooth operation of the task force as well as some receptacles to them.
