The founder of Marcel Ofomata Foundation has promised that there is no going back in reaching out to the people of his community and beyond as he organized medical outreach for them.
He emphasized this during the fourteenth edition of the medical outreach, with people from Isuofia, Nanka and Igboukwu communities benefiting.
The medical outreach, which holds annually and sometimes twice a year has become what indigenes of Isuofia and environs look forward to for their medical needs, as many people were already at the venue as early as six o’clock in the morning on Friday .
The founder of the Foundation and Chief Executive Officer, AMAECOM Global Company, Chief Ofomata in his remark, noted that healthcare according to United Nations Charter is a right the people should enjoy but regretted that most times, it is not accessible because it is expensive for the people, a reason the foundation exists to breach the gap.
Chief Ofomata further noted that though surgery was not included in this year’s outreach, it will be included in next year’s outreach, adding that notwithstanding that the challenges are enormous, it is fulfilling and divine reaching out to the people through the foundation.
The Medical Director of the Foundation, Dr. Alphonsus Ekanem explained that this year’s outreach was done in three different locations in one day with increased medical personnel to take care of various health challenges in addition to the regular medical services they provide.
Mr. Ifeanyi Azike, a stakeholder in Igboukwu, thanked Chief Ofomata and team for remaining steadfast in their philanthropic gestures , which he said the people are happy for, praying for Godly blessings on him.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to ABS, including, Mr. Samuel Okoye from Nanka and Mrs Mary Okeke, expressed happiness for the gesture, saying that they have enjoyed free health checks and drugs at no cost, appreciating the foundation for reaching out to them .
Mr. Ofomata later called on the traditional ruler of Nanka, Igwe Godwin Ezeilo and that of Igboukwu, Igwe Alex Azike who visited him while at the venue of the medical outreach in Igboukwu.
