The Chairman Anambra State Post Primary Schools Service Commission, (PPSSC), Professor Nkechi Ikediugwu has charged Information Communication Technology teachers in the State to upgrade themselves to enable them to impart the right knowledge to the students.

 

Professor Ikediugwu gave the charge during the opening ceremony of a three-day workshop for ICT Teachers Association, Anambra State chapter held at Saint John of God Secondary School, Awka.

Professor Ikediugwu emphasized the need for them to become internet savvy as constant upgrading is needed to teach Coding, Robotics and other digital skills to the students which will in turn provide the students with the digital skills needed for the future.

 

She noted that it will also help the students to engage in subjects that may help them pursue careers in technology related fields and spoke on the importance of Data Processing and Coding in the development of education in Anambra state as the world is rapidly changing and technological advancements have become a significant aspect of man’s daily lives.

 

Professor Ikediugwu commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for promoting excellence in the education sector of the state, even as she applauded the Anambra State Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma-Udeh for her tireless efforts in pushing the ministry to its present standard.

In attendance at the event were some of the PPSSC Board Members which include, the Deputy Chairman -Dr Naomi Samuel, Member one Dr Uchenna Okeke, Member two, Dr Bibiana Okoli and the new Public Relations Officer of the Commission Ann Okafor among others.
