More stakeholders are commenting on the level of growth and development in Anambra State after thirty-two years of existence.
The Vice President of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Damian Okeke Ogene said the state has continued to record consistent and gradual growth over the years in spite of obvious challenges and setbacks.
Chief Okeke Ogene said successive administrations since 1991 tried to improve on achievements of their predecessors in various sectors.
He noted, however, that Governor Chukwuma Soludo administration has accelerated the pace of overall development of the state through infrastructural development including ongoing dual carriageway project from UNIZIK Temporary Site to Isuanaocha and other communities in Awka North Local Government Area, internal roads in Awka, Onitsha and Okpoko as well as flyover project at Ekwulobia.
Chief Okeke Ogene noted that the Governor has within a little over one year demonstrated strong determination to transform the state and launch it on course of sustainable development.
He called on stakeholders to give him all necessary support and encouragement to achieve his vision as well as attract investors to the state, while urging traditional rulers and town union executives to maintain peace and stability in their communities to enhance development.
Also speaking, the Anambra State Chairman of Miners Association of Nigeria, Chief Henry Igboeli said the state has recorded appreciable levels of development in various sectors over the years under various administrations.
Chief Igboeli commended Governor Soludo for his sustained efforts to fulfil promises made to the people and noted that the creation of the Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ministry in the state will accelerate exploration and harnessing of mineral resources abound in various parts of the state to scale up the revenue base and create more employment opportunities.
He assured that the Association will work closely with the State government to achieve the policy thrust of the Governor in Solid Minerals and Mining Sector and urged investors to use emerging opportunities to build more industries and processing plants for proper and efficient utilization of minerals from the resources.
Chief Igboeli urged Ndi Anambra in diaspora to embrace the think home philosophy and extend some of their investments to Anambra State to contribute towards building a better future.
