The Assembly Hall of Jehovah’s witnesses, Uli Anambra State is to host a global three day event, the 2023 Exercise Patience Convention. This 2023 Convention will be the first time the event will hold as an in-person event since the 2020 pandemic when Jehovah’s witnesses cancelled their in person events throughout the world and held their conventions virtually in more than 500 languages.
So, beginning from Friday, September 8, 2023, Jehovah’s witnesses will bring back that tradition to Uli Anambra State.
The Regional spokesman for Jehovah’s witnesses, Mr Obinna Igwe, said as much as the witnesses loved the convenience and quality of the virtual conventions, nothing can replace being together in a large group setting. While online conventions reached millions around the world and kept communities safe, Jehovah’s witnesses desire to get back to the usual joyful fellowship of large gatherings.
Some 6,000 conventions will be held worldwide as part of the 2023 Exercise Patience convention series. In Nigeria alone, more than 320 conventions will be held in 39 host cities.
From Friday through Sunday, six convention sessions will explore the quality of patience, highlighting its modern day relevance through scriptural examples. A live baptism will be performed following the Saturday morning session and a pre-recorded drama will be featured in two parts during the Saturday and Sunday afternoon sessions.
Jehovah’s witnesses Regional spokesman, Igwe adds that patience is a beautiful quality that Christians should desire to display in their daily lives. However, maintaining patience in the face of many challenges can be a daily struggle. As such, spending three days exploring all aspects of this quality will be a very crucial experience for everyone.
Jehovah’s witnesses have been holding public conventions in stadium arenas, convention centers, and theaters around the world for more than 100 years.
After resuming smaller in-person meetings and their public ministry in 2022, the summer of 2023 marks the first time Jehovah’s witnesses will gather at a much larger regional events around the world since the lifting of pandemic restrictions.
The convention is open to every member of the public and no collection is taken.
