The Transition Committee Chairman of Awka North Local Government Area, Mr. ThankGod Anago has distributed relief materials donated by the Anambra State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA to some communities affected by flood in the area.
Mr. Anago who received a truck load of relief materials from SEMA thanked Governor Chukwuma Soludo for the timely intervention as the distribution began at Ebenebe Civic Center before heading to Ugbenu, Ugbene and Awba Ofemili.
He made it clear that the relief materials will not be the only thing that would be distributed to Ndi Awka North, assuring that the Soludo administration through other agencies has mapped out more palliatives to be shared among the communities affected by flood in the area.
While addressing the beneficiaries, Mr. Anago asked that the names of indigent people, widows and unemployed youths in the local government be submitted to him for the first phase of his empowerment support to business owners and farmers in the ten communities in Awka North.
The Awka North Mayor thanked the traditional rulers, town Union Presidents General, Councilors and women leaders in the area who played vital roles in mobilising Ndi Awka North who came out en masse to receive the materials.
