Governor Chukwuma Soludo has reaffirmed his support for local industries; as he performed the ground breaking ceremony of Kojo Motors Auto Assembly and Natural Gas Facility located at Umunya, Oyi Local Government Area.

 

Governor Soludo laid the foundation stone of the facility, and promised to visit in next six months to drive the first vehicle from the auto plant; as the company assured of beginning production within the next six months.

The Governor, who noted that coming to Anambra to invest is a business decision that will in fullness of time benefit the investor, noted that Anambra State, with the highest population density after Lagos has to embrace Industrialization and technology to be able to control the future.

He harped on the need to have technology transfer from the Chinese that are providing technical support at the facilities and re-echoed call for Ndi Anambra to come home and invest.

In his remarks, the member representing Oyi Constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Honourable Innocent Ojike commended Governor Soludo for encouraging young investors and supporting already existing investments to do better.

On her part, the Chairman, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, MAN, Southeast, covering Anambra, Enugu and Ebony States pointed out that Governor Soludo has been the one going after manufacturers and investors, which shows great passion to develop the state.

 

She reassured of support of the association in helping the Governor achieve his vision, and commended the Chairman of Kojo Motors for bringing his wealth home.

In their separate speeches, the state Commissioner for Industry, Mr. Christian Udechukwu and that of Transport, Mrs. Patricia Igwebuike said that Anambra has the most favorable environment for investment, and encouraged both foreign and local investors to always make Anambra the first choice.

 

Earlier, Igwe Chris Onyekwluje of Umunya prayed for the sustainability of the company, and good agenda of the Soludo led administration.

 

The Transition Committee Chairman of Oyi Local Government Area, Mr. Emmanuel Nweke, while welcoming Governor Soludo, thanked him for having the interest of Ndi Oyi at heart, and promised to keep implementing the solution agenda in the area.

Laying of foundation stone by the Governor flanked by other stakeholders climaxed the event attended by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, representatives of AFREXIM bank, among others.
