This year’s Ofala Onitsha community will take place between fourteenth and fifteenth of next Month.
The Chairman marketing and communication subcommittee of the event Mr. Emeka Maduegbuna disclosed this to Newsmen in Onitsha. 
Mr. Maduegbuna who is also a member of the Ofala Steering Committee disclosed that since the traditional ruler lgwe Alfred Achebe ascended the throne twenty-one years ago, the Ofala festival has gain recognition globally which has earned a certification from world Tourism Organization while Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation has endorsed it as a major Nigerian festival and called for support
Listing several activities that will take place before the Ofala, the marketing and communication sub committed Chairman disclosed that this year’s Ofala festival theme according to Igwe Achebe is “Better Stronger together” and requires that all hands must be on deck for its actualization
On his part, the South-East retail Chief of Globalcom Nigeria Limited Mr. Augustus Offor who noted that Globalcom in 2011 signed a memorandum of understanding with the traditional institution of Onitsha to be a major sponsor of the Ofala festival pointed out that since then they have been working closely with, the Ofala festival planning committee to achieve a better result.
He maintained that Globalcom is deeply committed to preserving the rich cultural heritage of the people saying that their support for the cultural Festival is strictly driven by their belief in the enormous potential of the Ofala festival and other important festivals in the country.
Contributing the South-East Regional event Manager International Breweries PLC, Mr Rufus Olise described the Ofala Festival as the biggest festival in the South-East which endeared the company to start its Sponsorship in 2012 pledging the company’s continued support to the rich cultural heritage of the people.
