Anambra State government is expediting actions to recreate and boost the creative industry in the state.
The Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Mr. Don Onyenji, made this known when he appeared as guest on ABS audience participatory programme “Issues”.
Commissioner Onyenji said that there is an urgent need for key players to come together in promoting arts and crafts in the state and beyond, pointing out that one of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s objectives is to create and recreate the creative economy of the state which he said is the reason for the upcoming Arts Mega Exhibition slated for 27th to 30th of September in Awka, the State capital.
He revealed that registration for the Arts exhibition can be done online or manually at the Ministry, describing it as golden opportunity for all interested artists including amateurs and professionals to promote their work to the international and available local markets.
The Chairman, Planning Committee, Anambra Arts Mega Exhibition 2023, Chief Marcel Manafa, expressed their desire towards making the state the hub of art and craft in the South-East and Nigeria in general, explaining that the exhibition will be the first major step in actualizing the desire.
Chief Manafa further explained that the purpose of the event is to increase the appreciation level of arts and crafts in Anambra as well as creating visibility and massive opportunities for the artists.
He called on the participants to maximize the support and network of important dignitaries within and outside the State that will grace the event and help in achieving maximum growth in the creative sector of the economy.
