Anambra State Commissioner for Education, Professor Ngozi Chuma-udeh says that Miss Mmesoma Ejikeme, who was involved in Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME-score inflation saga, is doing very well where she is undergoing therapy with state-appointed guidance counselor and psychologist.
Giving update on the Mmesoma-JAMB matter after she received “African Jewel of Human Capital and Education Excellence” award from a Port Harcourt-based media organization, Professor Chuma-deh said relevant authorities will equally make a plea to JAMB to reconsider measures taken against Mmesoma, whom she said she has adopted, and shall not be abandoned to her fate.
She reasoned that one cannot throw away one’s own baby with the bath water, reminding all that Governor Chukwuma Soludo is passionate about every child in the state.
He appreciated the honor done to her through the award, describing it as a call for more work in realizing the objectives of the Soludo administration.
Earlier, the Chairman of Editorial Board of Free news magazine, Mr. Obinna Mbonu said the Education Commissioner has helped in taking education in the state higher than it was, evidence in Anambra students and teachers winning laurels nationally and internationally, recruitment of more teachers and equipping them to deliver excellence.
He commended the partnership between the State government and various town unions in ensuring that education infrastructure is a collective affair, making it possible for Anambra to continue producing the best human capital.
