Anambra State Police Command has announced the demise of one of its officers, ASP Anthony Ogbodo, who was killed in a tragic vehicular accident involving his motorcycle and a shuttle bus on Saturday, seventeenth September, 2023.
A statement signed by the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga explained that the driver of the shuttle bus who knocked down the officer had conveyed him to a hospital at Enugwu Ukwu before he gave up the ghost.
According to the statement, the driver was arrested and taken into custody; while the fatal accident is being investigated.
The statement debunked insinuations on social media attributing the death of the officer to different causes.
Mourning the passing of the officer and condoling his family and loved ones on the tragic incident, the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Aderemi Adeoye assured that justice will be speedily dispensed in the case.
