The Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor has charged those entrusted with leadership roles to be faithful in order to bring the needed transformation in the society.

 

In a sermon at Saint Thomas Parish Umuchu, in Aguata Local Government Area during a service of confirmation and admission into Girls Guild and Women’s Guild for all the parishes under Umuchu Archdeaconry, Bishop Ezeofor who described leadership as a rare privilege for one to be called to serve, cautioned those entrusted with leadership positions against using it to oppress the masses.

 

Right Reverend Ezeofor maintained that Man has no choice on how God created them and expressed disgust on how those created to be Men are turning themselves into Women describing it as satanic.

 

Bishop Ezeofor pointed out that being a good Steward comes with total commitment, dedication and fear of God adding that Stewards need to build confidence in those they are serving in order to attract their respect and continuous followership.

 

He charged Christians to use their individual talent in working out their salvation, reminding them of the need to Keep their body Holy which he described as the temple of God.

 

In a remark, the Vicar of Saint Thomas Parish Umuchu and Archdeacon of Umuchu Archdeaconry, Venerable Chijioke Nwankwo, who thanked the bishop for the visit, charged the faithful to always live lives capable of winning souls for Christ.

 

Fifty-Six candidates received the sacrament of confirmation, nineteen girls admitted into the girl’s guild while twenty-seven Women were admitted into the Women’s Guild during the service which was facilitated by Reverend Thank God Onwuka and attended by the president of Aguata Diocesan Women’s Ministry Mrs. Chinyere Ezeofor, Deputy Chancellor of Aguata Diocese Professor Meshach Umenweke among other Diocesan officials.

 

Also, during the service, Bishop Ezeofor congratulated the Chancellor of Aguata Diocese, Justice Pete Obiora on his appointment as the Justice of the court of appeal

 

Anthem by the choir and special prayer for Nigeria, Anambra State and those in leadership positions also featured at the service.
