The Bishop of Ogbaru Diocese, Right Reverend Prosper Amah has advised Nigerians not to lose faith in God as they pass through economic challenges facing the country.

 

Right Reverend Amah gave the advice at Saint Luke’s Anglican Church Okpoko, Ogbaru Local Government Area while fielding questions from ABS Correspondent, Emengini Osadebe, on the state of the nation during his fiftieth birthday celebration.

 

The Bishop, who noted that Nigeria is being regarded as the headquarter of poverty, said it hurts to see that people are passing through a lot of hardship in the country.

 

He described Nigeria as an unfinished project in the hands of God, expressing optimism that God must surely rescue the country.

 

On his part the Bishop of Mbamili Diocese, Right Reverend Obiora Uzochukwu called on Nigerians, especially those in the leadership positions, to arise and build the nation, saying that it is a collective responsibility of all to ensure a new Nigeria.

 

Contributing, the Vicar in charge of Saint Stephen’s Anglican Church Inland Town Onitsha, Venerable Dr. Izuchukwu Obiekwe, who said it is only true divine mercy of God that people can survive the present hardship in the country, maintained that there is tension in the land because the poor are trying to breathe, calling on the government to bring lasting solution.

 

The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the last general elections, Mr. Peter Obi called on Nigerians to remain prayerful; to enable Nigerian leaders use the country’s resources for the good of the people.

 

The Chief Executive Officer of Roban Stores, Sir Robert Anwatu, who called on Nigerians to trust God that one day there will be a new nation, urged the people not to leave the country for a foreign land, but instead stay back to make Nigeria work.
