Construction work on Igwe -Ezechi Okoye road, Ifitedunu in Dunukofia local government area is nearing completion.
Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on works made the observation while oversight the project in line with their constitutional responsibilities.
The committee which spoke through its Chairman, Engineer Emma Nwafor described the job done so far by the construction firm handling the project as very impressive.
They observed that the drainages of the road are of high standard, while the earth work has been completed and charged the construction firm in charge of the project to stick to specifications as Anambra State Government will not tolerate shoddy jobs.
In an interview, the Project Manager of the Firm handling the project, Mr. Innocent Okafor explained that they have completed up to fifty eight percent of the two-point four-kilometer road and they are waiting for favourable whether condition so that they will start asphalting the road.
At Abagana-Nimo Road, the Committee frowned at the slow pace of the project and charged the construction firm in charge of the project to expedite action on it and deliver high quality project with twenty years guarantee as stipulated on the contract agreement.
On his part, the General Manager of the Firm handling the project, Engineer Mohammed Motrik informed the Committee that they have completed seventy percent of the concrete and earth work to pave way for stone base stage, which he said will commence after the rains stop, assuring that the project will be completed next year.
