South East Governors have been urged to emulate Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s human capital development initiatives to build quality human infrastructure in the zone.

Speaking in Awka, the Vice President of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, Chief Damian Okeke-Ogene said the free education scheme announced by Governor Soludo will uplift the life of the people and ensure better future for the state.

Paul Ezeoke reports that Chief Okeke-Ogene said the free education policy will give all children access to quality education irrespective of family or social background to attain their full potential.

He noted that his skill acquisition programmes would also provide permanent solution to challenges of crime, social vices and unemployment as well as provide the manpower that will drive the state and national economies.

On the sixty-third independence anniversary of Nigeria, Chief Okeke-Ogene regretted that the country is yet to actualize the dreams and aspirations of the founding fathers and early nationalists as Nigerians have continued to suffer socio-economic challenges resulting to various forms of hardship, frustration, depression and agony.

He stressed the need for equity, promotion of rule of law and collective fight against corruption to reverse the narrative. UPSOT

Also speaking, a legal practitioner, Mr. John Okoli-Akirika said Nigeria has not done well in actualizing the lofty ideals of the founding fathers predicated on unity in diversity, rule of law, protection of lives and property and other indices of good governance which are the fundamental objectives of government policies.

Mr. Okoli-Akirika regretted that Nigerians have continued to suffer socio-economic and political challenges aggravated by burden of corruption and poor human capital development.

He called on Nigerians to listen to Governor Soludo’s call towards reinventing the country and looking inwards to chart new course to reestablish Nigeria and maximise its potential, urging those in positions of authority to aspire to meet expectations of the masses to justify the confidence reposed in them.
