Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Works has charged the construction firm handling the construction of Ekwulobia flyover bridge with a dual carriage way to stick to specifications to avoid execution of shoddy jobs.
The Committee gave the directive when they oversighted the project in line with their constitutional responsibilities.
when the Committee arrived the sites, it saw heavy equipment’s working on the site with the construction firm and the consultants supervising the project.
Speaking to journalists after oversighting the project, the Chairman of the Committee, Engineer Emma Nwafor explained that the pillars and columns the construction firm handling the project has constructed are of high quality and can carry heavy duty vehicles and expressed satisfaction with the jobs done so far.
Engineer Nwafor said the massive project on completion will put an end to traffic gridlock that usually occurred in the area during festivities and boost socio-economic activities of the town.
The Committee commended Governor Soludo for choosing a reputable company to handle the project and for compensating those whose buildings were affected by the construction of the flyover.
On his part, the project manager, Engineer Nawar Deep assured the Committee that they will deliver the project within the eighteen months timeline and thanked members of the community for cooperating well with them.
