The Chairman, Post Primary Schools Service Commission, PPSSC, Prof Nkechi Ikediugwu has appealed to well-meaning Ndi Anambra to help in empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs and community leaders by providing them with skills and knowledge they need to succeed.
She made the appeal when the Principal of Modebe Memorial Secondary School, Onitsha, Mrs. Ngozi Anaegboka presented her students that won the Bosslady Competition to the Board Members of PPSSC in Awka.
Prof. Ikediugwu expressed joy for having the students win the competition and appreciated the Bosslady law for posing a business challenge for Anambra State Secondary School Students as an extracurricular programme in its first year of mission of promoting ethical business practices, social responsibility and civic engagement which she said is in line with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s initiative of one youth, two skills.
The Education boss thanked God that the Governor has approved the recruitment of entrepreneurial teachers to help make the students work in teams, learn to collaborate and contribute to communities.
The competition started with two hundred and five Secondary Schools in the state and was trimmed to twelve schools and then four that participated in the grand finale where Modebe Secondary School, Onitsha came overall first and were presented with a cheque of five million naira.
They were also promised University Scholarship and a one-week education tour outside Nigeria.
Highpoint of the visit was showcasing of the five-million-naira cheque and presentation of tie and dye produced by the students.
