Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Public Account has charged the local governments that are yet to appear before it for the review and verification of their audited accounts for the year 2022 to keep their records straight.
The Chairman of the Committee, Honourable Noble Igwe made the call when he alongside members of the Committee reviewed the audited account of Onitsha South Local Government Area for the area under review.
The Committee observed that the Local Government Area did not keep their records straight and asked them to arrange it properly and present it in their next meeting with them.
The Committee also reviewed and verified the audited account of Idemili North Local Government Area for the year under review and commended the local government council for improved revenue generation.
In a vote of thanks, the Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili North local government area, Chief Chuksbrown Igboanua lauded the Committee for being thorough in scrutinizing the audited account of the local government for the year 2022 as the exercise will encourage checks and balances in local government administration.
Chief Igboanua noted that the oversight duty being discharged by the Anambra State House of Assembly will encourage Local governments, Ministries, Parastatals and Agencies to follow due process in caring out their activities.
The Committee also reviewed the audited account of Nnewi South Local Government Area for the year 2022 and observed that they followed due process in execution of projects.
