African Dynamic Initiative for Youth Empowerment in collaboration with National Youth Service Corps has organized Meds Kital 2023 festival with a lot of freebies.
The event held at Nibo Civic Centre Awka South featured
free skills acquisition, free medical check -up, music, dance, comedy, eating competition, free haircuts, village cookathon, games and networking.
speaking to the ABS, the lead Coordinator of the group, Mr. Goodnews Eyo explained that Meds Kital is a platform put in place to harness dormant talents among Nibo youths and empower them to become self-reliant.
He advised youths of the community to shun vices and seize the opportunity of the free skills acquisition to make themselves people of value.
President of Medical Health CDS Group, NYSC Awka South council area, Miss Precious Ugwu said they came for medical outreach and mentioned the various free medical services given to the beneficiaries and appreciated the sponsors of the programme who joined forces with them to make the event a reality.
The President-General of Nibo Union, Professor Tony Nwokoye said he was excited when the corps members approached him for his support for the outreach and as a way to encourage them, he allowed them to use the Nibo Civic Centre Hall free of charge.
Some of the beneficiaries, including Evangelist Ejike Nwandu, Mrs. Margaret Ifeanyichukwu, Solomon Madu, Emmanuel Okolo among others were all full of gratitude for the free services given to them and prayed God to reward the group.
