The Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor, has described fathers as the first stewards of God.

In a sermon at Saint James Anglican Church Enugwu-Abo Ufuma in Orumba North Local Government Area during a service to mark the 2023 Aguata Diocesan Christian Men’s fellowship conference, Bishop Ezeofor charged Christian fathers to be alive to their responsibilities as the first stewards of God, reminding them of the need to use their position in bringing the needed transformation in the society.

He urged Christians to always put into practice lessons learnt during church services, charging them to always abide by the teachings of Jesus Christ in order to inherit His kingdom.

Bishop Ezeofor, who is also the National Chairman of the Evangelical Fellowship in the Anglican communion, EFAC, Nigeria, cautioned Christians against complaining while doing the work of God, even as he advised them to use their God-given talents in working out their salvation.

He called on the faithful to take full charge of their environment and make it habitable to avoid diseases and sicknesses as a result of filthy environment.

Bishop Ezeofor reminded Christians of the need to always say the truth and stand by it, and cautioned elders against being economical with the truth.

He charged Christian parents to inculcate the true Christian faith and beliefs in their children in order to reduce the high number of youths that are going back to idolatry.

The conference with the theme, “Divine principles of transformation stewardship”, featured Bible study, cutting of the conference cake and series of prayers for Nigeria, Anambra State, the church and those in positions of trust.

The President of Aguata Diocesan Women’s Ministry, Mrs Chinyere Ezeofor, and Diocesan officials attended the service, which also featured a special anthem by the choir.
