One thousand and eighty-nine graduates who successfully passed Teachers Professional Examination have been formally inducted into the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) at Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe, Anambra State.
Out of the One thousand four hundred and forty-eight students who took the exam, three hundred and fifty graduates failed.
During the eighth induction ceremony for Post-Diploma Education, Bachelors of Education, and National Certificate of Examination graduates into TRCN, the Registrar and Chief Executive of TRCN, Professor Josiah Ajiboye emphasized that TRCN serves as the gateway to a professional teaching career and personal development.
Professor Ajiboye, represented by the Director of Regulation, Accreditation, and Enforcement at TRCN, Dr. Okunola Abimbola, congratulated the inductees and encouraged them to be innovative and creative in their teaching, adopt new approaches, and uphold the professional creed, and urged them to introduce new technologies and methodologies to engage their students effectively.
In a remark, the Provost of the College, Dr. Ifeyinwa Osegbo represented by the Chairman, College Planning Committee, Dr. Ndu Azubuike, expressed concerns over the low quality of education in Nigeria, attributing it to the poor quality of teachers and their service delivery while commending TRCN for insisting on competence among professionals.
The Provost congratulated the inductees and praised TRCN for its role in regulating and classifying the teaching profession, extending gratitude to Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his support.
The Chairman on the occasion, Dr. Innocent Nwanekezie, congratulated the inductees on their exam success and emphasized the importance of teachers in the society, urging them to consider their profession as noble.
On behalf of the new inductees, Miss. Obianuju Tagbo expressed gratitude to the Provost and TRCN for their support.
The oath-taking for the inductees was administered by Professor Ajiboye, and the graduates showcased their joy through dancing and cheers.
The Anambra State Coordinator of TRCN, Lady Rosemary Otikpa also participated in the event.
