In line with the directive of Governor Chukwuma Soludo that the disbursement of cheques to beneficiaries of the first batch of the One Youth, Two Skills Solution Initiative would begin on Wednesday , one thousand and fifteen beneficiaries from Awka South Council area have begun to receive the cheques for their seed grants.

 

The disbursement saw the youths filing out to check their names and receive their startup funds as well as a transport allowance of ten-thousand-naira cash each.

 

Presenting the cheques to the beneficiaries, Governor Soludo re-emphasized that the welfare of the youths is one of key agenda of his administration and as such, nothing is too much to be giving them and revealed that the best way to empower a society is through human capital development which is critical to achieving a liveable and prosperous Anambra state.

 

The Governor who spoke through the Transition Committee Chairman of Awka South, Dr. Thankgod Anagor said that all the beneficiaries have undergone months of intensive training, including entrepreneurship courses from Unizik Business School, Awka.

 

He explained that the beneficiaries will be monitored to ensure that they are making progress in their different choice of businesses and asked them to remain positive and committed to the realization of the mission and vision of the Soludo administration.

 

Responding, some of the beneficiaries, including Chijioke Ojar and Nkolika Mgbataogu expressed happiness that the state government fulfilled its promise, showering prayers and praises on Governor Soludo and assured that they will not disappoint the Governor and their families.
