The Anglican Bishop of Afikpo Diocese, Right Reverend Paul Udogu has challenged Christians to always show gratitude to God and be thankful always.
Right Reverend Udogu stated this at Chapel of Glory, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Permanent Site, Awka, during a thanksgiving service which was themed “Gratitude for God’s Benevolence”.
He noted that no amount of thanksgiving today would be commensurate with the gift received from God pointing out that only the oxygen humans breathe can never be quantified.
Bishop Udogu beckoned on those who feel their riches and wealth are as a result of their hard work or dedication to what they do to have a rethink and know that all perfect gifts come from God.
On his part, the Bishop, Methodist Church of Nigeria, Awka Diocese, Right Reverend Moses Nwakanma said all should come to God in humility and pure heart and in return be blessed by God according to his riches in glory, frowning at those who do not show appreciation having been blessed noting that sometimes, such wealth vanishes away.
The Chaplain, Chapel of Glory, UNIZIK Permanent Site, Awka, Reverend Leonard Onwuzuligbo noted that the service was to demonstrate love as Christ directed and harped on the need for all Christians to show love to one another and go nearer to God with thanksgiving as the only thing God expects from all.
Contributing, the Dean, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Professor Chinedu Okoye noted that it is a great thing to be in God’s presence which demands walking and working according to God’s precepts with a special reference to thanksgiving as instructed by God for all to approach him which he said is the secret of riches and wealth.
Special prayers were offered for a peaceful Nigeria while thanksgiving added glamour to the service.
