Women of Patience and Help Organizational, recently held women summit and youth empowerment programme in Awka.
The event was aimed at providing a platform for women and youths to foster acquisition of financial and leadership skills for self reliance . Blessing Denis reports that the event held at Professor Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka, attracted distinguished guests including the Deputy Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Honourable Chukwuma Okoye represented by Honourable Umeh Onuorah and Anambra state Commissioner for Education, Professor . Ngozi Chuma-Udeh.
Some of the topical areas covered by the summit and youth programme include career development, financial literacy, healthy lifestyle and mentorship.
Speaking at the event , the Deputy Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Okoye said women all over the world are the pillars of society, emphasizing that they are not just epitome of beauty but also intelligent, hardworking, caring and supportive.
The Chairman on the Occasion, Chief Ngozika Agudosi said gone are the days when women are seen as mere house wives or when they are suppressed as a lot of women have made remarkable impacts in different areas.
In her welcome speech, the founder of the organization, Lady Adaeze Nwokoye explained that WPHO is a non governmental organization with primary obligations of empowering women to educate, train and sponsor the less privileged women in the society.
Speaking shortly after the summit, the Regent of Nri, Prince Ikenna Onyeso said that the event is not only an opportunity for personal growth but also a chance to be part of a broader movement dedicated to building a stronger and a more inclusive society.
