The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, has ranked the Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Mrs Amaka Obi high for delivering key and necessary development projects to the people of her council area.
The Vice President of NAWOJ, South East Zone, Comrade Stella Igboka gave the rating when she led members of the association in the zone to pay the council chairperson a familiarization visits at her office in Idemili South Council headquarters, Ojoto.
Comrade Igboka described Mrs. Obi as a jewel of inestimable value to the development of the council women and especially for being a worthy ambassador of women and revealed that they are exceptionally impressed by her scorecard which stands her out as an outstanding Transition Committee Chairman.
The NAWOJ Vice President applauded the developmental initiatives of Mrs Obi and recounted some of them to include the ICT Centre, reconstruction of INEC local government office, decongestion of Nnobi market, digging of boreholes and installation of toilets facilities in parks among others, noting that they are critical social amenities that will engender the increase in standard of living in the council area.
Comrade Igboka further disclosed that NAWOJ is getting ready for her triennial delegate conference where they are expected to elect a new Executive that will pilot the affairs of the association for the next three years.
Other members of the NAWOJ delegation who spoke at the visit including the Station Manager of Nigeria Television Authority, NTA Onitsha, Mrs Maureen Ezeokeke and the Public Relations Officer Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Comrade Ebele Ezeh, appreciated the giant turn around being witnessed in Idemili South Council Area since Mrs Obi assumed office and pledged the continuous support of NAWOJ to the development of the council area and the state in general.
Responding, Mrs Obi expressed gratitude for the visit, noting that her exemplary leadership is a testimony to Governor Soludo’s commitment to transform the state into a livable and prosperous homeland.
