The reconstructed building of the Aguata Local Government Area Traditional Rulers Council has been inaugurated by the Anambra State Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Community Affairs, Mr Tony-Collins Nwabunwanne.

 

Also commissioned were work tools including tables, chairs, computer and photocopy machine which was performed by the Chairman, Anambra State Local Government Service Commission, Barrister Vin Ezeaka.

inaugurating the traditional rulers building for use Mr Nwabunwanne who commended the Transition Committee Chairman of the Local Government Area, Dr. Chibueze Ofobuike for doing marvelously well, described the edifice as ultra-modern which is good enough to accommodate the royal fathers in discharging their duties.

The Commissioner maintained that Aguata local government area is very important to the State government, and applauded the traditional rulers for the fatherly roles they play in the governance of the state and urged them to sustain the tempo.

 

While inaugurating the work tools, Barrister Ezeaka eulogized Dr. Ofobuike for living up to expectations and appealed to workers in the local government to judiciously utilize the items as well as protect it from being vandalized or destroyed.

Earlier Dr. Ofobuike thanked God for giving them the enablement to bring good governance nearer to the people of Aguata and noted that when he assumed office, the traditional ruler’s council building was inhabitable, hence the need for the reconstruction.

 

He further explained that hoodlums who torched the local government secretariat some time ago, burnt all the work tools which is the reason he procured new ones for seamless work activities as well as to increase productivity of the workers.

The Chairman, Aguata local government Traditional Rulers Council, Igwe Chukwuma Orji of Ezinfite, on behalf of the traditional rulers paid glowing tribute to both Governor Chukwuma Soludo and Dr. Ofobuike for changing the narratives of the state and the council area for the better, and prayed God to bless them.

 

A one-time Chairman of Aguata, Local Government Area Chief Titus Anagbogu, members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Anambra State Association of Town Union, ASATU, Youth wing, among others attended the event.
