Anambra State Command of Chaplain Corps Policing Explorers, CHAPOL has celebrated its tenth-year anniversary in the state.
The event tagged “tenth Year Anniversary 2023 and 9th Annual CHAPOL/PPSSC conference” took place in Awka.
It drew students from public and public-mission secondary schools in the state as they reflected on the success and ways to sustain the achievements of CHAPOL.
Chaplain Corps Policing Explorers, CHAPOL, is a non-governmental paramilitary organization authorized by the Anambra State Government through the Ministry of Education, to combat and possibly eradicate moral decadence and other social vices such as cultism, exam malpractice, drug abuse, lateness in schools and monitor loitering and truancy during school hours in all the two hundred and sixty-three public secondary schools in Anambra State.
In his address of welcome, Anambra state Commandant of CHAPOL, Mr Joseph Ekwunife said that the command has worked so hard to achieve its objectives, noting that the command has remained resilient in combating all forms of immoral behaviors.
On his part, the National President of Anambra State Association of Town Unions, ASATU, Barrister Titus Akpudo observed that attitude and character defines a child and challenged the students to always do the bidding of their teachers who have their interest at heart in order to become successful in life and asked them to stay away from all forms of social vices.
The Vice Chancellor, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Professor Charles Essimone described CHAPOL as an organisation that has remained in the right track of directing the students towards the right path while assuring CHAPOL of the university’s partnership in championing the success of the students.
Responding after receiving an award, the Rector, Federal Polytechnic Oko, Dr Francisca Nwafulugo charged female students not to give in to discouragement and see themselves as having whatever it takes to fulfill their dreams.
Awards presentation to distinguished personalities, drama and questions formed the highpoints of the event.
