The immediate past member of the House of Representatives who represented Njikoka, Dunukofia and Anaocha Federal Constituency, Chief Ferdinand Dozie Nwankwo, Onyendozi Nwachinemelu Enugwu-Ukwu n’Umunri has kick-started another skill acquisition training for his constituents especially the youths. A continuous process, the training is to enable beneficiaries meet up with the rapid development and changes in the world. It is also targeted that the participants after the training will become employers of labour and possess skills that will help them provide solutions to contemporary challenges and meet global competitiveness.
Beneficiaries were selected from different parts of the constituency and the state. The training was attracted by the former lawmaker, Hon. Nwankwo. Thus, the beneficiaries are receiving the training free of cost.
The stream two of the training is presently taking place at the Ferdinand Dozie Nwankwo Centre For Development and ICT, Enugwu-Ukwu in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State. The centre is housed in a magnificent edifice built by Chief Nwankwo solely for the purposes of skill acquisition and vocational trainings. Each stream has at least one hundred and twenty beneficiaries and is expected to last between two and six months depending on the module.
The participants in the ongoing stream are trained to become experts in security surveillance and Information and Communication Technology (ICT). These are skills that are in high demand by governments and industries especially now that the world has become digitized. These skills include: computer appreciation, desktop publishing, microsoft suit, website development, mobile app development, graphics design, and computer repairs and maintenance.
Vocational trainings are also offered in cosmetology and chemical production where beneficiaries will learn how to produce items such as perfumes, soaps, disinfectants, and many others. Others include making of confectioneries and fashion and design.
