Residents of Awka Industrial layout have sent a save our soul message to Governor Chukwuma Soludo to save them from the effect of the dilapidated road stalling their businesses over the years.
They made call following the commencement of dry season and anticipated increase in road construction .
movement in and out of the Pokobros Avenue, Agu Awka Industrial Layout was difficult all through the rainy season but has become a little bit easier now that the rains are subsiding .
Both lanes were closed to traffic due to its dilapidated state, making it difficult for companies, industries and businesses in the area to maintain tempo of business activities .
Narrating their ordeal, one of the residents of the area Mr Akachukwu Akubeze whose business has almost crashed due to lack of customers said that they are happy that a listening Governor is now at the herm of affairs in the state, commending him for what he is doing across the state in terms of road infrastructure.
Mr Akubeze regretted the hardship they have faced as a result of the condition of the road which he said has been awarded and abandoned by previous administration.
Another resident of the area, Mr Amobi Akabuike said they put in serious efforts to put the road to use but their efforts are often destroyed by heavy duty construction vehicles that often drive through the road to a construction site near the area.
He pleaded to the Governor to remember the road as many companies have folded due to lack of patronage.
