The maiden edition of Anambra Solution Youth to Youth Mentorship programme has been kicked off in Awka, the Anambra state capital.
The event which was initiated and packaged by the Office of the Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Empowerment Programme was attended by successful business magnets, entrepreneurs, youths among numerous other stakeholders.
In his opening remarks, the initiator of the programme and Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Empowerment Programme, Dr. Nelson Omenugha said that the event served as a platform for the youths to be mentored and inspired by their fellow Anambra youths, in line with the manifesto of Governor Soludo to ensure that the State’s youths are competitive both in technical, entrepreneurial and leadership skills.
Dr. Omenugha further explained that it will also be an avenue for young successful Anambra entrepreneurs and business executives to tell the youths their stories and how they got to where they are, assuring that it is going to be a quarterly event.
The Anambra State Commissioner for Youths, Mr. Patrick Agha-Mba in his speech eulogized Governor Soludo’s administration for all it has done for the youths in Anambra and commended Dr. Omenugha for initiating the mentorship roundtable which he said is critical in building an ideal Anambra youth that will be globally competitive in skilled and digital manpower at all times.
Earlier, Chief Obinna Etele of Eteleson Groups of companies who is the mentor at the event, said that he will sign a one-year contract with the Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) because of their wider reach and took the youths on the nitty-gritty of what they need to know and have, in other for them to excel, including ideation and execution, innovation and networking as well as preparedness for opportunities among other things.
For the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), Sir Chido Obidiegwu, he is happy to attend the event and noted that Governor Soludo is passionate about the development of Anambra youths which is why his administration has committed a lot of resource in training and empowering the youths and described Chief Obinna Etele as a role model for Anambra youths.
An award was later presented to the Chairman and Chief Executive officer of Eteleson Group, Chief Obinna Etele by Dr. Omenugha.
