The Chairman, Post Primary Schools Service Commission, PPSSC, Awka, Prof Nkechi Ikediugwu has charged candidates sitting for the Computer Based Test, examination for teachers’ recruitment to take it seriously as only qualified candidates would be selected.

Prof Ikediugwu gave the charge while addressing the candidates at the ongoing CBT recruitment examination at the IDK Centre in Awka.

She reiterated that the essence of the examination being conducted by the directive of Governor Chukwuma Soludo was to fill the educational needs in the government schools.

 

On the rumours that candidates pay money before they can be shortlisted, Prof Ikediugwu asked the candidates if they paid any money before they could be shortlisted to which they said no.

While disclosing that everyone who applied for the teaching job will participate in the exam, the PPSSC Chairman further told the candidates that the recruitment exercise is free of charge and that they should not pay a dime to anybody and assured that the selection will be transparent as their results would be published after the exams.

In their separate remarks some of the candidates, including Chidimma Ezeama and Happiness Onwuaso expressed hope that they will come out successful even as they call for continuous improvement in Anambra State education sector.
