Work is in progress on the Umunya-Awkuzu road.
The road reports that earth work is ongoing on the road which is six kilometers in length.
It was also observed that drainage construction has been completed on some parts of the road and ongoing on other parts.
Speaking to the ABS, the project manager Engineer Melhem Atallah said they started work on the road in June this year and is expected to hand it over in June 2024 but are working hard to complete the road by February 2024.
Engineer Atallah said that they also worked on erosion control on the road and thanked Governor Chukwuma Soludo for giving the communities attention noting that listening to the yearnings of the people and working hard to solve the problems are what the present administration stands for.
On his part, a member of Umunya cabinet chiefs, Chief Ikem Nnaemeka expressed appreciation to the Governor for the road construction,expressing confidence that the Governor will not disappoint Ndi Anambra, urging him not to relent.
