The Acting National Youth Leader of Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth wing Worldwide, Mr Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu has advocated measures for rehabilitation, reformation and reintegration of non-state actors in the Southeast region to bring back the economic viability of the zone, as well as entrench a peaceful and secured environment.
Speaking to newsmen, Mr Okpalaezeukwu said that while the group condemn the non-state activities in the zone, the leadership of Ohaneze Ndigbo youths, are willing and committed to projecting a non-kinetic approach that will hinge on engagement of the youths, especially to rehabilitate, reform and reintegrate them into the society.
This, he said, shall primarily ensure that there is a positive change as regards the sit-at-home in the Southeast, and that the non-state actors are never reasonable as long as they continue their negative actions and activities, creating an atmosphere of lawlessness and disorderliness.
According to the Ohaneze youth leader, the impact of their actions are insecurity, fear, hunger and hostilities, even as he called on Southeast Governors to invest heavily in establishing facilities for the rehabilitation of Igbo youths.
He noted that the Ohaneze Ndigbo worldwide under the leadership of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu enjoys the support of Southeast Governors, but said that they need to do more, as he believed that the time has come to explore all the capabilities of the Igbo youths for peace, security and stability of the region.
