The Chairman, Post Primary Schools Service Commission, PPSSC, Awka, Professor Nkechi Ikediugwu has charged Principals of Secondary Schools in Anambra State to always be transparent in all their dealings.
She gave the charge during a social forum organized by the Principals in Onitsha educational zone.
The Chairman spoke to the Principals on the ills of illegal collection of money in their schools and reminded them the stand of Governor Chukwuma Soludo and his agreement with the Principals that dismissal awaits anybody that defaults on collection of unapproved funds.
She advised them to use the club of patrons to raise money in their various schools even as she also pleaded with the Principals to work in harmony with the school bursars.
Professor Ikediugwu stated that when they are transparent, their bursars will emulate them noting that they should not see the school money as their personal money.
She also told the principals to use the proceeds from school canteen, economic trees, farm products to maintain the schools.
Prof. Ikediugwu also addressed the retired principals to always come to the rescue of the incumbent ones and the incumbent principals to consult them whenever the need arises for the system to move forward.
The Chairman in conclusion, thanked the organizers of the event and asked the new principals to always organize such gathering to help keep body and soul together.
