Anambra State Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission has commenced what it called marathon special patrol which will end on January fifteenth 2024.

 

The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission in Anambra State Mr Adeoye Irelewuyi disclosed this during an appreciation visit to a Frontline industrialist Dr Godwin Okafor in his office at the Agu-Awka industrial layout.

According to Mr Irelewuyi, during the marathon special patrol, Officers and Men of the Federal Road Safety Commission will be on major roads especially all the flash points to help in traffic control, eliminating gridlocks in addition to help in checking Road crashes during the Yuletide.

Mr Irelewuyi who described Road Safety as a collective responsibility, thanked Dr Okafor for his continuous support to the Federal Road Commission which he said is being acknowledged by the National headquarters calling for its sustainability.

He extolled Dr Okafor who is also a community leader in Isuofia Aguata local government area for reducing the unemployment rate among the Youths through his company in addition to the production of high-quality products which is bringing comfort to various families.

 

Mr Irelewuyi during the visit re-assured that the Federal Road Safety Commission will continue to engage motoring public in sensitization and seminars with a view to educating them on Road safety measures warning them against over speeding, dangerous over takings, driving against traffic among other traffic violations.

Responding, Dr Okafor who thanked the command for the visit said that he will continue to partner any group or establishment whose policy thrust is aimed at improving the living standards of the people.

 

He called on the federal Road Safety Commission to step up efforts towards ensuring sanity on the highways to reduce crashes.

 

In a vote of thanks, the Deputy Corp commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission in Anambra State in charge of Operations Mrs Okora Awason expressed satisfaction with the kind disposition of Dr Godwin Okafor to the Federal Road Safety Commission and expressed optimism that the already existing synergy between him and Federal Road Safety Commission will be sustained for effective service delivery.

 

Highlight of the visit was a facility tour of the factory by the team.
