Anambra State Road Maintenance Agency, ARMA has commenced major intervention work on the Onitsha axis of the Bridge Head Road.
Works correspondent, Ngozi Obileri reports that men of ARMA first cleared the affected portion immediately after the bridge, and primed it before laying asphalt.
Speaking to the ABS, the Managing Director, of ARMA, Engineer Obinna Nduka said that they were mandated by Governor Chukwuma Soludo to fix every pothole from Bridge Head to Awka to enable Ndi Anambra coming home to enjoy safe and smooth ride to their respective communities.
Engineer Nduka represented by Engineer Godwin Ikechukwu said that apart from the Bridge Head axis, they are also working at Upper Iweka, Tarzan, Ogbunike Toll Gate and will continue in that line till they get to Awka and that they were directed to complete the intervention on or before 24th December 2023.
Reacting to the development, a road user based in Asaba, Mr Kingsley Chukwu commended Governor Soludo for having a human heart, noting that what he is doing will ease a lot of traffic on the road and save the quality time holiday makers would have to spend on the road because of traffic congestion .
