On Monday 1st January, 2024, parishioners of Aguata Anglican Diocese, their friends and lovers of God will converge on Central School field, Oko in Orumba North Local government area for another edition of Aguata Diocesan spiritual reawakening programme titled “Open Heaven Prayer Declaration 2024”.
The Prayer Declaration which will begin by 6pm will be streamed live on Facebook and will feature series of prayers for breakthroughs and healings in the year 2024 and beyond.
It is no longer news that Nigeria our beloved country is facing series of challenges, ranging from economic hardships to insecurity and as such, there is need for special prayers like the Open Heaven Prayer Declaration of Aguata Diocese of the Anglican communion, to seek for God’s intervention. The prayer declaration is put together by the Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Right Reverend Samuel Chukwudi Ezeofor (JP Ph.D Ambassador of Peace) and the Diocesan Board on Mission and Evangelism with the aim of making the faithful to always begin the year with God.
This edition will be presided over by Bishop Ezeofor who is also the National Chairman of the Evangelical Fellowship in the Anglican Communion, EFAC Nigeria. He will be assisted by a litany of anointed Men of God including Evangelist Joy Okam Lazarus, a special guest gospel artiste who will be ministering during the event.
With the theme as “Restored to rest” taken from the Gospel of Saint Luke chapter fifteen verse twenty-two to twenty-five, the 2024 Aguata Diocesan Open Heaven Prayer Declaration is poised to seek the power of God in restoring the hope of the masses in view of the vicissitudes of life and the hardships they are passing through especially in our country -Nigeria. It will feature special prayer declaration for those
in leadership positions, that they would submit to God’s style of leadership – that His will be done, that they will be faithful stewards, and that they will use the resources of the country to impact positively on the people. Other features of the programme will include salvation, healing, open doors, deliverance and counseling as those who attended the previous editions have continued to give testimonies about God’s interventions during the programme.
According to Bishop Ezeofor, the Open Heaven Prayer Declaration is designed as a means to commit the spiritual resources of the church to Nation building and accelerate the attainment of a developed Nigeria. It is also aimed at tackling societal problems through prayers and the word of God.
At times like this, interceding for our leaders and praying for our country should be encouraged among Christians. The church should consistently pray for family and political leadership, all arms of government, traditional and religious leaders, the education system and for the peace and unity of the country.
Aguata Diocese through the programme will also issue a clarion call to people who are gradually going back to idol worship to retrace their steps and toe the path of salvation. God can only wade into our challenging moments if we continually seek His guidance and support in all our undertakings and there is no better way to do so than through corporate prayer such as the Aguata Diocesan Open Heaven Prayer Declaration which comes up every first day of January each year.
At the Aguata Diocesan Open Heaven Prayer Declaration 2024, God Almighty will meet your needs according to His riches in glory. Be there!
