Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo has commissioned eleven kilometres of roads built by some people in Abatete community.

Commissioning the roads, Governor Soludo said government alone cannot develop the state, stressing that through collaborative means, so much can be achieved.

He noted that privately -built roads can be a cost-effective way for government to expand road networks without incurring significant construction costs, especially now that the resources are meagre.

While drawing analogy with what he called the “Neni Model” where some people in the community build infrastructure by themselves in their community, Governor Soludo said he is committed to supporting similar laudable efforts in Abatete.

He added that his government will continue to build more durable roads across the state, calling on wealthy individuals to think home by investing in infrastructural projects in their communities such as roads and school renovation, among others.

For the Engineer handling the project, Fred Uzoh who was Chairman of the occasion as well as one of the people that contributed to the eleven kilometres Road project , the drive is to support the good work of the Governor, starting from their community, under Public – Private – Community Partnership arrangement.

In attendance were Chief of Staff, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, Commissioner for Works, Engineer Ifeanyi Okoma and Transition Committee Chairman Idemili North, Mr. Chucks Brown Igboanua, among others.
