In a remarkable display of community spirit, a group of United States’ based citizens of Nibo community have come together to build a hospital to help provide medical aid to those in need.

The hospital, which was inaugurated for use by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, is set to provide critical healthcare services to the people.

The new hospital has state-of-the-art medical equipment and a full range of facilities to serve the needs of patients and is expected that it will not only provide much-needed medical care to local residents but will also create jobs for healthcare workers.

Performing the function, Governor Soludo praised the town’s citizens residing in the United States for their collaborative effort in funding and constructing the facility.

The Governor said that the project is a good example of unity and progress and emphasized that his administration is committed to Public, Community, Private Partnership initiative.

 

While calling for similar collaborative efforts in communities to accelerate development across the state, Governor Soludo revealed his administration’s plan to support healthcare infrastructure in Nibo, assuring of building two additional hospitals in the neighbouring wards, equip existing facilities with medical personnel and provide technical assistance to the Nibo Community Hospital.

The President-General of Nibo Town Union, Professor Tony Nwokoye, appreciated those who took it upon themselves to build a project that will benefit a large number of members of their community.

Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr Ernest Ezeajughi, Commissioner for Health Dr. Afam Obidike, Director-General Strategy Execution and Evaluation, Mr Emma Onyilofor, Chairman Nibo Community Hospital Board, Chief Innocent Akuvuo, among others, attended the event.
