The family of Umeoji in Ezinifite Aguata Local government area has held a Thanksgiving Mass for their late parents, Sir Andy and Lady Ngozi Umeoji.

 

The event which took place at the family’s compound at Aku village, attracted Peter Cardinal Okpalaeke of Ekwulobia Catholic Diocese, numerous priests, the religious and traditional rulers, among others

Sir Andy and Lady Ngozi were the parents of the Deputy Director of Zenith Bank, Dame Adaora Umeoji, former member that represented Aguata Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives Chief Chukwuma Umeoji and their siblings.

 

In his homily, Cardinal Okpalaeke noted that the event has become annual aimed at honouring the late parents of the Umeoji family whom he said left a legacy of fervent worship of God and service to humanity and their children whom God has blessed.

Cardinal Okpalaeke told those gathered to take a cue from the Umeoji family and learn to bless others around them irrespective of their net worth and prayed God to continue to bless the family for their gestures.

 

In a vote of thanks, one of the sons of the deceased, Mr. Emeka Umeoji appreciated the clergy, traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Chukwuma Bob Orji, men, women, children and youths that sacrificed their time for the occasion.

The traditional ruler of Ezinifite, Igwe Orji in his remarks reiterated that the Umeoji children by the reason of the Thanksgiving Mass held annually, are toeing the path of their parents.

 

Some of the beneficiaries of the Umeoji family empowerment including Mrs. Azuka Ezeobi a widow, Master Paulinus Iboro and Chidiebele Otinyere expressed appreciation for the kind gestures of the family.

Administration of sacrament of holy communion on catholic faithful, offertory, special prayers, free medical treatments, presentation of gift items to guests, featured during the event.
