It was a triple celebration for the family of Chief Romanus Okafor of Umudiana kindred, Ekweanyika village, Nri in Anaocha Local Government Area, as he emerged the President General of Nri town union, and inducted into the Oba society of Nri ancient kingdom alongside his wife who was initiated into Otu-Odu society of Nri.
Tthe events which took place at Chief Okafor’s compound, attracted people from all walks of life who came to share in their joy and witness the culture and tradition of the Igbos, Ndi Nri in particular in full display as the couple were initiated into the prestigious societies.
Carrying out the initiation rites, the Head of “Isi Oba Nri “, Dr Ramas Asuzu and the Traditional Queen of Anaocha, Chief Mrs Regina Egolum-Okoye respectively charged the couple to always abide by the tenets of the groups and to keep promoting the rich cultural heritage of Ndi Igbo.
In separate remarks, Chief Romanus Okafor with his title names as ” Oba Eziafa Ka Ego”, and Oba Ezedioramma”, his wife Chief Chinyeaka, with title name, “Iyom Chinaetu Ugo”, expressed happiness for taking the prestigious titles in Nri ancient kingdom, promising to continue to promote Igbo tradition and culture which they described as the best across the globe.
Friends of Chief Okafor family, Mr. Okwudili Ojiakor, Mr. Obioma Mbanefo and Iyom Chinwe Nduka said that the couple deserve their respective titles as they have impacted lives and contributed immensely to the development and progress of the community, praying for God’s continuous blessings on them.
