Mr. Stanley Ovu of Umuezeoka, Ezza North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, has commenced his marital journey having been joined in holy matrimony with his heartthrob, Kosisochukwu; of Enugwu-Ukwu, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State.

 

The white and traditional weddings which took place at St Francis Enugwu-Ukwu attracted family members and friends of the new couple in their numbers who came to witness the union and share in their joy.

In a homily during the wedding mass, Reverend Father Cletus Ekwezia reminded the new couple of the need to always love each other; even when things go tough, and to be prayerful at all times for God’s grace and strength to stick together forever.

 

Reverend Father Ekwezia who noted that marriage is not for children; but for responsible adults, attributed case of broken homes in today’s society to the wrong perception of the present generation that marriage is just for enjoyment and giving birth to children, without knowing that marriage is beyond that, as it comes with a lot of challenges, hence the need for proper preparation before embarking on the lifetime journey to prevent crash along the way.

For the Ebonyi State Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Engineer Jude Okpor, and his wife, Nancy, who were the sponsors of the marriage, the new couple should put God at the center of their union, make love, forgiveness and perseverance their watchwords in order to surmount marital challenges that are inevitable.

 

Engineer Okpor and his wife, Nancy, who are brother in-law and senior sister to the groom respectively, thanked God for commencing the marital journey with the new couple, and expressed hope that He will lead them through.           

The new couple, Mr. and Mrs. Ovu, thanked God for bringing them together, saying that they were attracted to each other by the exceptional lifestyles they saw in each other, and promised to love and cherish themselves until death separate them.

The white and traditional weddings which had Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Paul Nwosu, immediate past Managing Director of Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency, Dr Jude Emecheta, and other dignitaries in attendance, featured exchange of marital vows, cutting of wedding cake, dance by the couple, and performances by cultural groups.
