Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has reiterated the need for individuals and communities to synergize with his administration to help government accelerate development .

 

Governor Soludo stated this when he commissioned a one point five-kilometer road in Uruagili, Osikwu in Awgbu community, in Orumba North Local Government Area, built by a community leader and philanthropist, Chief Aloysius Okoyenta.

According to the Governor, public-private-community partnership in the state will fast track development, assuring of the commitment of his administration to engender development in Anambra communities, including Awgbu, including the construction of two primary health centers equipped with staff, solar power, and telemedicine potential.

 

While commending Chief Okoyenta for aligning with his administration’s, Public-Private-Community Partnership initiative by building the road for his community, Governor Soludo stressed that it is the best way to develop the grassroot.

The Governor also spoke about the government’s free education policy in public schools, free antenatal and delivery services in public hospitals, and also recalled the story of a woman from Awgbu; who gave birth to quadruplets through caesarean section free of cost.

 

Also speaking, Chief Okoyenta revealed that he was driven by the Governor’s call for participation in grassroot development by all and sundry.

President General of Awgbu Progress Union, Mr. Emmanuel Ugochukwu, who appreciated Governor Soludo for appointing Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi as Chief of Staff to the Governor, pledged to keep supporting the Soludo administration.

 

 

The event was attended by the Principal Secretary to the Governor, Barrister Joachin Anetoh, Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Foster Ihejiofor, Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Felix Odimegwu, Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba North Council Area, Engineer Ogochukwu Ekwueme, among others.
