The Commissioner carried out the inspection during a working visit to offices under the Ministry.

He was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Mrs. Obiageli Uchebo; the Acting Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service, Barrister Juliet Mbonu-Ike; and other officials.

Addressing members of staff after the facility tour, Dr. Mefor urged them to remain professional in the discharge of their duties, noting that the primary responsibility of the station is to inform, educate, entertain, and enlighten the public.

He described ABS as a reputable media organization with a rich heritage, stressing that its long-standing reputation should continue to serve as a foundation for excellence.

Speaking on the condition of the station, Dr. Mefor observed that the facilities require renovation and that most of the equipment, though still functional, has become obsolete and needs upgrading.

He assured staff that efforts would be made to draw Governor Chukwuma Soludo's attention to the station's needs.

In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Mrs. Uchebo, said oversight visits would be carried out from time to time to assess activities at the station.

She encouraged members of staff to continually improve themselves through training and to keep pace with modern digital trends in journalism.

The Head of Station, ABS Onitsha, Mrs. Ifeoma Udechukwu, expressed appreciation to the Commissioner and his entourage for the visit and expressed optimism that it would mark the beginning of the station's restoration to its former glory.

As part of the working visit, the Commissioner and his team also visited the Onitsha North Local Government Secretariat, where they were received by the Council Chairman, Hon. Tony Nworah.
