JDM Global Foundation Organizes ‘Free Health And Wellness Fair’ In Utuh, Nnewi South LGA
A non-governmental organization, JDM Global Foundation, has organized a health and wellness fair in Utuh, Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Over 200 people, including men and women, young and old, were beneficiaries of the two-day event that featured free health checks, medications, screening, counseling, health education, wellness tips, and more.
President of JDM Global Foundation, Lolo Jennifer Madubuko, in an opening remark delivered by the Secretary of the Board of Trustees, JDM Global Foundation, Venerable Okey Ifionu, noted that as a young daughter from Utuh growing up, she experienced mothers who were unable to afford medical treatment, fathers who silently endured pain because they could not pay hospital bills, as well as elderly men and women who suffered from illnesses that could have been prevented or treated if healthcare had been accessible.
While encouraging everyone to take advantage of such services because health is priceless, Lolo Madubuko promised that the health and wellness fair won’t be a one-off programme, but the beginning of a long-term commitment to the mission of restoring hope, improving lives, and giving back to society, and the vision of building a healthier community where people no longer wait until they are seriously ill before seeking medical attention.
Some of the beneficiaries, including the Palace Secretary of the community and Secretary General of Utuh Development Union, Prince Okona Mbanefo, Mrs. Nneka Okafor, and Mrs. Ogochukwu Chukwuka, said they were impressed that people who couldn’t access medical healthcare were being helped to get same, and praised the benefactor for the kind gesture.
